The Australian Good Design Awards represent the country's highest level of independent design recognition. For more than six decades, the awards have championed excellence across product, architecture, engineering, innovation and sustainability.

This year, King Living was honoured with three awards for the Quantum Sofa, Evo Bed and KING Teddy Bear.

Award-winning design

For King, this was a year recognising retro and sustainability. With distinctive curved forms made in part from recyclable materials, both the Quantum Sofa and Evo Bed have a seventies-inspired aesthetic, engineered for modern life and designed for lasting comfort.

Quantum Sofa

Winner in the Product, Furniture and Lighting category, the Quantum Sofa’s curved, high-backed form is built for support that lasts all day.

Designed from five decades of comfort innovation, Ultra45 high-density foam combines softness with resilience, engineered to compress and bounce back. The KingCell® spring system combines a plush top layer with a firmer base, creating the ideal balance.

This is the second accolade for Quantum, which also won an iF Design Award in 2026.

The 2026 Good Design jury comments,

"Engineered with processed crumbed foam from production offcuts, Quantum reduces landfill waste while delivering premium comfort in a compact, vacuum-packed sofa with Rebound Foam, machine-washable covers, 90% recyclable design, and tool-free assembly."

Evo Bed

Winner in the Product, Furniture and Lighting category, the Evo Bed brings soft curves and a supportive bedhead designed for complete comfort.

A durable steel frame and four supportive timber base panels connect seamlessly for a strong foundation, while the frame-free foam surround holds its shape over time, backed by a 120-day trial. Made from recyclable materials, the raised bed base promotes airflow and creates a sleek shadow line at floor level.

Every cover is fully removable and machine washable, perfect for pets and everyday life.

A special award

The KING Teddy Bear was also recognised this year with a win in the Product, Sport and Lifestyle category.

Each bear is handcrafted from repurposed fabric offcuts, giving new life to premium materials that would otherwise go to waste. It’s a keepsake that embodies the King Living commitment to sustainability and thoughtful design.

For every bear sold, $50 is donated to the Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation to help support children and families.

The project demonstrates positive thinking about waste material by giving surplus fabrics a second life, reducing landfill waste while maintaining compliance with global toy safety standards.

The Jury applauds the genuine sustainability story behind this entry."

Continuing the legacy

Our in-house design team has earned recognition year after year since 1977. This win follows five major international wins in 2025 at the Red Dot Design Awards and iF Design Awards, and two Good Design Awards in 2024.

As we continue to design furniture that is adaptable, durable and sustainable, we look forward to shaping how people live, in Australia and around the world.
